It started with just one tree….
The planning of the Memorial Meditation Garden started in 1999 with the idea from a family that wanted to plant “just one tree” in memory of their beloved husband, father and friend who found inner strength while walking in his garden during his illness. It developed into a place for patients and their families to have a peaceful experience….a chance to let the world go by for a while as they recoup their energies.
The garden was designed using a waterfall as the centerpiece and incorporating grasses, dwarf trees and shrubs, climbing plants, flowering bulbs and stairs. The stairs transport you to one of three separate sitting areas with benches where people can find solitude as they enjoy the garden around them. You can sit in the exact same spot in the garden and the garden will grow and change with each season. Each of the areas is surrounded by plants and set in such a way that each is quite private. The pond at the base of the waterfall is a haven for koi and waterplants installed to complete the ambience of this beautiful setting.
