Nutritional counseling is available to patients who undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy and is provided by a registered dietician. The service includes:
- Managing nutrition related side effects resulting from the therapy such as weight loss, loss of appetite, diarrhea, difficulty swallowing or change in taste
- Use of the right foods for healing purposes
- Maintaining health eating habits after therapy
- Providing a nutrition follow-up, when needed, throughout the course of the treatment
- Providing cooking demonstrations to patients and their families
- Providing community-education programs
